Department of International Relations offers a bachelor’s degree, after completing a four year course load. International Relations has an interdisciplinary character. It is composed of different disciplines, such as political science, law, history, economics, psychology, sociology and geography. International Relations analyses the relationships between states, international/regional/intergovernmental organizations, multinational corporations, international norms and international community.
In the department, the students are taught the history and processes of international system, its functions, judicial outline, economic structure, relationships of states and the place and foreign relations of Turkey in the international system.
International Relations, is an active discipline the importance of which keeps increasing with each passing day. In this information age, when globalisation and territorialisation is experienced at the same time, international relations is a branch of science which is dynamic and open to innovation. The objective of this department is to educate individuals who have the education and intellectual accoutrement on the subjects of the history of the international system, the phases it has gone through, the way the economic, political and legal structures of the system operate, the relationship of countries that makeup this system and the position and the relations of our country in this system. The graduates of this department who have been educated with this purpose in mind will have the knowledge and skills to be able to work at international private public organisations and establishments.
