Architecture is a timeless vocation which has sustained its importance throughout the history of civilization. Architecture which was borne out of one of the most basic needs of a human being, which is a shelter, has led the way in the formation of the modern civilization. Everthing from the design of a single residence to the shaping of streets, squares and towns are are covered by architecture. Architecture is a creative vocation which is based on technique as well as power of imagination which is within the area of interest of fine arts. Architecture is also a vocation in which ideas are expressed freely and a conscious and innovative educational environment is created and which helps in the education of individuals who producecontinuously changing and developing original works of art.
The fundamental objective of the Department of Architecture is to contribute to the planning and project design of living spaces and areas of utilization which satisfy every need of human beings. Living spaces are elements that are most affected by social and cultural changes. Architecture is the education of professionals in the subjects of education, research and checking, the creation of modern residences and the presentation of these residences for public use and doing all this after finding the intersection point of different uses that were mentioned above.
Architecture and art covers design and production proccesses that shape all the living spaces of human beings from the time of antiquity to the present and beyond. The education of enlightened architects and artists who think that cultural values are important and are willing to protect them, are modern and who are aware of their responsibility to shape the environmental structure has been targeted. This aim is in accordance with the point of view mentioned above. A program has been prepared which will develop the skills and creativity of our students and help them start their careers as architects who are sensitive towards the environment, in contact with different fields of art, well equipped in the matters of both design and application and can make use of the opportunities offered by modern technology.
