Overview

The importance of audiovisual communication tools in human life increases day by day. The communication and advertising are extremely important for developing many production and consumption processes. Ads attract great attention in terms of performing more logical activities, and the increase in the interest changes the expectations and requires innovations. Furthermore, consumer preferences affect and change the processes of producing goods and services. Technological progress, the demand of reducing time cost and innovative developments require individuals equipped with certain skills. Our university aims to offer a good education service especially in applied sciences considering contemporary employment paradigms, and Public Relations and Advertising is one of those departments. Considering that audiovisual media industry has a great potential in Turkey, it has brought an increased need for qualified labor force. Aim of the department is to meet the need for staff equipped with necessary knowledge and skills to be assigned in basic processes in the sector. The department also offers significant advantages for students since many national and international advertising companies are located near the campus.

Programme structure

Curriculum was formed with courses which can be utilized at every stage of professional life. Introduction to communication science, public relations, basic advertising, mass communication theories, communication law, image management, new media and society are core courses of the department. Besides these courses, innovation and entrepreneurship courses are offered to students as well.

Our University holds important meetings and cooperates with leading representatives in the relevant sectors in order to conduct a successful internship and employment process for our students. The collaboration is advantageous to a great extent. Our country follows the developments in the communication industry closely all around the world, and the need for technically qualified staff increases day by day. The employment areas for graduates are as follows: multinational companies, advertising agencies, public relations companies and publicity departments, national and international news service organizations, social research and survey organizations, communication programs, private or public relations departments in public or private institutions, construction companies.
