The richness of a nation’s language and literature represents its development standards. With a history of approximately 2000 years, Turkish language and literature takes her place as one of the oldest languages and literatures in the world. Turkish books decorate the libraries and museums all over the world especially the ones in European countries. In Turkology centers in all these countries, Turks who completed a history of 2000 years, still perform researches and publish articles.
Since the language is the beginning of human history, we take Turkish as the essence and homeland of Turks. We conscientiously perform researches both on contemporary and older works as well as the contribution of Turkish to other languages. We examine and research all the terms of Turkish Literature, performers and authors of works of arts with a contemporary understanding. Our mission is to bring up researchers, Turkish and Literature teachers who can speak at least one foreign language and are literate in computer usage.
The program covers global literature as well as Turkish. Students are also offered some elective courses including, Diction, Editing, Information Technology, English. University library, which is also available on line has lots of books about Turkish Language and Literature and Cultural History, serving as a research center for our students.
Students, after graduation may be teachers at both private and state schools (after having a M.A) or lecturers at universities. They may also work as researchers or experts at museums, libraries, TV and radio companies.
