The documents in languages other than English or Turkish must be translated and certified at the Turkish Consulate in the home country.
You must take the original entry qualification documents along with you when you finally go to the university.
Students accepted to an academic program taught in Turkish, except for those whose native language is Turkish, have to prove their proficiency in Turkish before they can start the first year of their academic program. Students can take the TOMER test upon arrival. Students, who fail the TOMER test, can take intensive Turkish classes at TOMER or at Okan University for a year.Test score for Turkish proficiency: TOMER A or B level Students also have to prove their proficiency in English before they can start the first year of their academic program.
TOEFL-PBT: 513, TOEFL-IBT: 65, Okan University Proficiency Test: 60/100 P.S:International students who are unable to submit the required English language test scores during their application can take the Okan University English Proficiency Test upon arrival. Students who fail the test will attend Okan University Intensive English Program for one year. This year is not included in the total number of years required for graduation.
Okan University’s Department of Computer Engineering first opened its doors to students in the 2005-2006 academic year. Our department, with its faculty of qualified and experienced academics, has specially designed its curriculum in collaboration with a panel of information system experts, to meet the requirements of today’s world. Our curriculum ensures that students are kept abreast of the latest developments in the field and prepares them for professional life.
Not only in Turkey but throughout the world, the need for qualified computer engineers continues, and we know that computer-based technologies are what bring the process of globalization to life. In this process, it is essential not only to acquire sound technical knowledge, but to learn foreign languages as well. Therefore, our students are encouraged to learn a second foreign language in addition to English, so that when they graduate from Okan, they will be that much better equipped to work as computer professionals anywhere in the world, and to interact with the world.

Educated by an experienced and qualified academic staff, students are encouraged to apply the knowledge they acquire. To this end, for example, juniors and seniors have the opportunity to work on real projects in the Computer Research and Application Center.

Graduates of the Okan University Computer Engineering Department, already at an advantage thanks to the theoretical knowledge and practical experience they acquire during their studies, are certain to make headway in their careers in a very short amount of time. Our graduates students may go on to have titles such as System Analyst, Software Developer, Information Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, Database Administrator (DBA), Database Analyst, Industrial System Designer, etc, and work in public and private companies active in industry, commerce, management, education, and much more, as well as at banks, universities, and companies that produce computer hardware.
