Nursing is an applied health profession, which contains art, aesthetics, interventions and health sciences. In modern nursing, family-centred care is the essential. The nurse holistically evaluates the patients with their family. Nurses look after not only patients and their family as in the past but also they look after individuals all ages, families, groups and communities, sick or well in all settings in current days with given more attention to health promotion and improving quality of life. Nurses interest not only physically health but also psychologically and socially health. They use systematics solving problem methods which contain defining problem, planning interventions, applying and evaluation when their practice on focused 4 main concepts related to nursing: Human (1); sickness/wellness (2); environment (3); and nursing.
The purpose of nursing programme is to educate respected nurses who is able to work at fields of nursing research, clinics and managing nationally and internationally; who can have high qualification related to knowledge and clinical skills under the light of evidence-based practices multidisciplinary and respectful to human rights and ethics principles; who can believe in life-long learning and who can think critically and integrate the elements of academic superiority and research. The whole duration of education is four years. The graduates have title of “nurse” at bachelor’s degree.
Employment of registered nurses is projected to grow 19 percent from 2012 to 2022, faster than the average for all occupations, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Nurses promote health, prevent disease and help patients cope with illness. They have a unique scope of practice and can practice independently, although they also collaborate with all members of the health care team to provide the care needed by each patient as an individual. Nurses are hands-on health professionals who provide focused and highly personalized care. The field has a wide range of career opportunities, ranging from entry-level practitioner to doctoral-level researcher.
