Overview
The Bachelor’s Degree Program of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is a 240 ECTS credits, 4-year program composed of eight semesters, each of which has a 30 ECTS workload. One ECTS equals to 25.5 hours of student workload per semester. Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), is one of the basic units of general Engineering education. In terms of subjects of study, EEE can be conceived as involving two main branches: Electrical Engineering and Electronic Engineering. Electrical Engineering covers high-voltage, energy and power systems, Electronic Engineering covers telecommunications, biomedical and robotics.
Programme structure
The technology center at Istanbul Aydın University provides opportunities for students to be fully equipped with laboratory tools and applications. Faculty members of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering pursue various scientific projects, study and publish on issues ranging from robot technologies (Remote robot control), wireless network optimization (Military communications applications), Encryption/Encoding (channel and source media encryption/encoding with the error performance of the optimization algorithms), Artificial Intelligence Applications (Face recognition, fingerprint recognition, signature recognition, extraction of fault maps, areas of archaeological investigation), to biomedical applications (colon, lung, breast cancer diagnosis, etc., osteoporoses, schizophrenia on the diagnosis of diseases). Additionally, students can participate in scientific projects that support the development of the industry and the cooperation of the University. To name a few of such projects: TUBITAK-TEYDEB (Advanced implemented facial recognition, voice recognition, network optimization), Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture (Hand written art) and “Ottoman-Latin alphabet real-time translation”,“Original-imitation distinction in works of art”.
Career opportunities
Our “Work placement” program aims at having students work at a factory once a week. This way, students familiarize themselves with the operations in the industry during their education, hence the job placement process is smooth as they are equipped with the needed theoretical and practical information.
